AFAIK the max baud rate is 57.6K on all the Macs. The reason that
LocalTalk is faster is that it routs through a different part of the chip.
So basically it gets to be the max rate *4 (note 230.4 Kbps = 57.6 Kbps*4)

I can spout more details if you wish, but bascically the Baud Rate
Generator has an extra /4 in it relative to what the Phase-Locked-Loop
(used by LocalTalk) can do.
