I built a kernel on the weekend from the 3/11 tar files (after a 
break from staying current of several weeks) and was astounded by the 
SCSI performance. A copy of a 6MB file between two disks takes 20 sec 
on my IIcx. That's 300KB per second - more than 3x what I was getting
before!

FTP's over ethernet to another mac are tranfering files at ~200KB/sec.
