Yes.  It does.  And the installer does not understand the newer
filesystem.

You are welcome to work on it--I don't know of any and I don't plan
to make any.  I am planning on future versions of NetBSD (including
the next version) not needing the install utility.  It would be nice,
however, to have one and to be able to manipulate the filesystems, etc.
from the MacOS.
