Subject: 9/9 -current no boot on IIsi
To: None <port-mac68k@NetBSD.ORG>
From: Michael South <msouth@oneworld.owt.com>
List: port-mac68k

Victim: IIsi, 5MB RAM, sd0=40MB Quantum LPS, sd1=APS Syquest 270.
Farallon Ethernet card [HEY ALLEN: the card works fine]
Weapon: 9/9 kernel (with mac68k5380 SCSI driver). Booter 1.8.
Means of death: Good question
Victim last seen booting and running 9/2 kernel.

Scene of death:

starts up OK. HwCfgFlags 0xfc00,0x 773f,0x 126.
Finds ncrscsi0, finds ncrscsi0 targ0 (LPS) and targ 2 (Syquest)
"ncr96scsi0 not configured"

"ncrscsi0: Resetting SCSI-bus"
above message duplicated (once, the second message said instead "No disconnected
jobs for targetmask 1")

And then silence.

Pressing any key (including shift or command) gets an illegal instruction trap
and drops into debugger. Whereupon pressing any key gets an illegal instruction
trap, etc. (If boot with serial console, pressing keys on serial console or on
ADB keyboard has no effect). Moving mouse has no effect.

"Resetting SCSI-bus" is in ncr5380.c, in scsi_select(). scsi_select() is called,
amoung other places, by reselect() if the device does not appear to be dropping
SEL. reselect() is also where "No disconnected..." appears.

Thoughts?
