I own a number of Aviion systems (one 5500 system with X.25 card inside,
and two workstations (not sure for the moment what model, labels are not
so clean)).

It seems that netbsd is the only operating system (may be) ported to
this kind of hardware, excluding the native dg/ux.

I would be interested to help you with testing, development, or at least
with hardware (these machines have 24 hours internet access), if you are
interested.
