I've also confirmed this fixes the problem (shell in xterm doesn't start)
on NetBSD/luna68k 7.0 and NetBSD/x68k 7.0.

If no other developer handles this matter, I'll commit it to see
if it could cause any other unexpected side effect on the HEAD.
