definitely broken was:

- 1.4.1 with pulled up Nakata-patch
- 1.4 worked, 1.4.2 worked because on netbsd-1-4 , the Nakata-patch was 
  reverted.

I don't remember anymore if -current before your patch was broken or not.

maybe the bug IS what you fixed, but I don't know yet. (To test myself, I 
need to take apart my A3000.)
