netbsd-5 system hangs while booting since recent kernel update

Hello,

one of my systems reproducibly hangs while booting a kernel built using
today's netbsd-5 sources (and I can reproduce this with the "official"
GENERIC kernel from /pub/NetBSD-daily/netbsd-5/201001120000Z/...):

  booting hd0a:netbsd
  10238864+436324+618480 [520464+507196]=0xbc1b84
  [...]
  isa0 at ichlpcib0

  com0 at isa0 port 0x3f8-0x3ff irq 4: ns16550a, working fifo
  com0: console
  com1 at isa0 port 0x2f8-0x2ff irq 3: ns16550a, working fifo
  fdc0 at isa0 port 0x3f0-0x3f7 irq 6 drq 2

With the old kernel (built using 2009-12-01 sources) booting succeeds:

  booting hd0a:netbsd.old

Any hints which of those changes might be the culprit?
