I think it's just

  start boot 'normally'
  if wd0's only partition is raid then skip 64 sectors in to get to payload


I never had the impression you could put boot blocks at the begining of
swap.

I think you would mbr at 0, and then installboot to wd0a, and mbr will
find a and run bootxx/xxboot, which will then skip 64 to find the
filesystem.
