Subject: X on Asus M6000

I've installed NetBSD/i386 3.1 on an Asus M6B00A laptop (dmesg's
output is appended to this email) and would like to get it running
kde, which I've installed using 'pkg_add kdebase-3.5.7nb4'.

Executing 'startx' with no /etc/X11/XF86Config file brings up twm,
but after I ran xf86config to create XF86Config 'startx' just
produces an all white screen, even after I changed XF86Config's two
default

Driver "vga"

lines to

Driver "i810"

because it seems that's the correct driver for this laptop's Intel
graphics card. I noticed these entries in /var/log/XFree86.0.log:

(II) Bus 2: bridge is at (1:1:0), (1,2,2), BCTRL: 0x0080 (VGA_EN is cleared)

(EE) GARTInit: Unable to open /dev/agpgart (Device not configured)
(WW) I810(0): /dev/agpgart is either not available, or no memory is available
for allocation. Using pre-allocated memory only.

agpgart is present:

% ls -l /dev/*agp*
crw-r--r-- 1 root wheel 82, 0 Sep 26 04:41 /dev/agp0
lrwx------  1 root  wheel      4 Sep 26 04:41 /dev/agpgart -> agp0
%

but the error isn't surprising since dmesg says:

agp0 at pchb0: unknown memory configuration, disabling

I couldn't see any relevant settings in the BIOS.

Is there any way to use the i810 driver on this machine? I suppose
it wouldn't be practical/possible to use kde without it?

When twm ran its xterm windows went off the bottom and the right of
the display. Would it be possible to get it to use the LCD's native
resolution of 1280 x 800?
