All here's the latest NetBSD-4 daily amd64 built from 09/22 sources on the
755:

The only device that didn't properly attach is the SMBus controller, which
I will investigate. FreeBSD 6.2/amd64 -p7 doesn't even boot -- the kernel
hangs mapping out PCI bridges.

Subject: Re: OptiPlex 745 problems

For reference, I was able to get access to that machine again for a little
while and tried booting it with a port-amd64 installation CD (built from
sources CVS-updated on 21 June 2007).

It booted the INSTALL kernel and ran sysinst OK--but once again I had to use a
PS/2 keyboard because the USB one didn't work. The NIC didn't work with the
install kernel either.

I'll append dmesg's output for the GENERIC.MP kernel to this message, although
I guess this is the wrong list (I'll post it to port-amd64 too). The NIC
didn't work with it either--although it did identify it during probing as
Broadcom BCM5754--so I couldn't do any network speed tests. At least the
port-amd64 kernel recognised basically all the 4 GB of RAM.

I did have to turn off the USB controller in the BIOS before it would go as far
as giving a login: prompt with the GENERIC.MP kernel. Before I did that it
would stop when probing the hardware with this line:

uhub2: device problem, disabling port 1
