Are there any plans to support VIA Padlock hardware AES acceleration?

The only thing I found in the mailing list archives was the following 
(which is the RNG portion only):

This would be useful for things like cgd and decryption of encrypted
compressed vnds (discussed elsewhere).

I'd be interesting in sponsoring the development of support for this, if 
it looks like it'll provide good results.
