That's interesting because the system I'm working with are vnd(4) created 
images for CF Boot.

I'm using dd(1) to generate blank files of the exact same size as the CF 
media. Once I fdisk -aui, disklabel, installboot, the image in vnd(4). (at 
least from the output available from the userland tools).

Maybe I'm missing a step.  I'll check.
