Oh no... :-(

I assumed LVD (isn't that "low voltage differential"?) was just
a disk feature and not a compatibility issue...

Darn it.  I'll have to get a new disk or a new adapter.

Thanks very much for the heads up.  I would have been pulling
my hair out over this.  I'm new to SCSI.
