     Not nearly enough memory.  I have an 486SX laptop with only 6MB of
RAM.  With 1.6.x boot disks, they would boot, but it would crash if I
ran sysinst or tried to do too much.  It ran 1.5.x and took several
days to build a custom very much trimmed down kernel.  I would say that
you need a minimum of 8MB of RAM in order to install a current version
of NetBSD.
