NetBSD nemeton.com.au 1.6.1_STABLE NetBSD 1.6.1_STABLE (GENERIC) #0: Fri Oct 17 16:12:18 EST 2003     unpriv@nemeton.com.au:/usr/local/NetBSD/netbsd-1-6/obj/sys/arch/i386/compile/GENERIC i386

$ dmesg | egrep 'siop|scsibus0'
siop0 at pci1 dev 9 function 0: Symbios Logic 53c810 (fast scsi)
siop0: interrupting at irq 9
scsibus0 at siop0: 8 targets, 8 luns per target
scsibus0: waiting 2 seconds for devices to settle...
cd1 at scsibus0 target 2 lun 0: <NEC, CD-ROM DRIVE:500, 2.8> SCSI2 5/cdrom removable
cd1(siop0:0:2:0):  Check Condition on CDB: 0x43 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 0c 40

Other than the check condition (preceded by a 'no disk label' message,
so I think it's normal) the controller appears to work -- I can read
a backup CD-R without problems.
