I have a similar situation: MSI Neo2 FIS2R Motherboard with a 2.4Ghz
P4. The BIOS does not even offer the "Hyperthreading option" and
NetBSD's current GENERIC.MP kernel does not find the "second" CPU
either. Enabling MPACPI finds the second CPU.

With acpi enabled, my quad-ethernet card becomes unusable. After boot,
I get many

tlp0: filter setup and transmit timeout

messages. The interrupt rate on ioapic0 pin 19 is about 30,000/sec.
Looks like something is wrong with the interrupt routing, the lines

tlp0: interrupting at ioapic0 pin 5 (irq 5)

look suspect. Adding option ACPI_PCI_FIXUP gets me

pci_intr_fixup: no compatible PCI ICU found: ICU vendor 0x8086 product 0x24d0
Warning: unable to fix up PCI interrupt routing

For now I am fine with another Ethernet card.
