Dear Mike,

this question belongs rather to netbsd-help@ or tech-pkg@.

Well, maybe you should compile from pkgsrc? I am sure you will be glad with
KDE 3.1.3 you can find there. Why do you say you need 3.0.5b? What specific
problems do you have with pkgsrc?

What do you mean by ,,CVS stuff''? I suggest reading ,,NetBSD guide'', as it
explains upgrading and getting latest pkgsrc in a way everyone can
understand. You really don't need any ,,CVS stuff'' knowledge to use CVS to
download/upgrade your sources (and pkgsrc).

Did you read any documentation, did you do some googling? What exactly is
too complicated for you?

Just make an entry, similar to the other ones you can find in pkgsrc. On
NetBSD it's really a piece of cake, when compared to creating packages on
other BSD's.

Would you like me to compile the binaries for you? I have 1.6.1 and it's no
problem for me, of course if you trust me enough to run binaries provided by
me on your system.

You need GUI tools to send e-mails? Strange. Have you tried ,,mutt''?
It's a very nice and user-friendly MUA, you should definetly give it a try.
