I suspect the HP Pavillion has enough in common with my HP Omnibook that
it's a safe bet that you have an i830M graphics chipset. There is no AGP
support in the 1.6 branch for that chipset.

You should be able to get things working, albeit non-accelerated, with
XFree86's "vesa" driver.
