I should have provided more details initially. There is no problem=20
using text mode. I am using the XFree86 4.3.0 savage driver. The=20
display is a 10 or 10.4 inch TFT active matrix display. Its native=20
resolution is 1280x600.
Just a minute ago I was looking at some sites about Linux and the=20
Libretto L1. I discovered a mention of the same problem under video on=20=
this site:
http://memebeam.org/toys/ToshibaLibretto
According to that site, changing to 16-bit color solves the problem. I=20=
tried switching to 16-bit color and it did indeed solve the problem.=20
However, there is a mention on that site that the problem has been=20
fixed in XFree86 4.1. I am running XFree86 4.3.0 on NetBSD 1.6P=20
userland and 1.6Q kernel right at the moment. I suppose I should be=20
content with 16-bit color but I am really wondering what causes this=20
problem with 24-bit color. Thank you for your response.
