Some laptops lie.  My Sony PCG-GRX570 has ACPI and APM, but if I use
APM only (no ACPI in the kernel) it comes up with quite broken APM
return codes.  Things like battery level -1, etc.  It's only
supporting APM calls like suspend, poweroff, etc.
