hello

i'm new to bsd (installed 1.6 today for the first time) and while i was
going through the "netbsd guide" one of the first things i wanted to do was
changing the keyboard layout into belgian (azerty)... but i keep on getting
the same problem:

# wsconsctl -k -w encoding=be
wsconsctl: WSKBDIO_SETENCODING: Invalid argument

i tried all the resources i could think of, including:
- wsconsctl manpage
(http://netbsd.gw.com/cgi-bin/man-cgi?wsconsctl++NetBSD-1.6)
- wscons faq (http://www.netbsd.org/Documentation/wscons/#enablingwscons)
- port-i386 mailing list search
(http://www.google.com/custom?q=port-i386+wsconsctl&cof=LW%3A247%3BL%3Ahttp%
3A%2F%2Fwww.netbsd.org%2Fimages%2FNetBSD-smaller.jpg%3BLH%3A241%3BAH%3Acente
r%3BAWFID%3A4f6b0499f0f58d2c%3B&domains=mail-index.netbsd.org&sitesearch=mai
l-index.netbsd.org)

i looked in the /usr/include/dev/wscons/wsksymdef.h file and there is a
reference towards "be" as a possible encoding layout...

am i doing something wrong?

many thanks for helping me out
kobayashi

ps. if there's another (maybe more appropriate) way of getting some help
than this mailinglist; please let me know...
