Around a month ago I (briefly) attempted to install NetBSD/i386 1.6
on a laptop but I couldn't even get into sysinst because when booting
from the startup floppies or CD it hung when probing the PCMCIA
controller which was one of the 02micro cardbus controllers; don't
know which off hand. I couldn't find any references to this brand on
the NetBSD Web site so I gave up. (Could someone explain how to
create install floppies which would ignore this device and carry on
to sysinst?)

Some Acer laptops use 02micro controllers so that might be something
to watch out for.
