You might have something there, although there are patches to the MBR code
such that I think it can pass back the offset or something.

I know I found it maddening that even though I installboot'd to wd1i,
the MBR code would only boot to wd1a.

I think David Laight and a couple of others have come up with solutions
to this problem (I hope they're considered sane enough to import).
