Subject: 200205290000 pre-1.6 snapshot: GENERIC kernel hangs on AGP

I tried to upgrade an HP Netserver E/60 from a 1.5W-ish kernel
to the 200205290000 snapshot of the 1.6 branch.

The machine is bog-standard, 1999 vintage, 440BX chipset motherboard
dual-slot1-capable, 1 CPU + 1 terminator installed. It's been running
1.5W-ish kernel happily for a year.

The GENERICL kernel from the 200205290000 snapshot hung hard during
boot, immediately after printing the "agp0" line. Perhaps the keyboard
is stuffed (havent used it in months), but the only response I got
was from powercycling.

I reverted to the 1.5.3-beta kernel I had on the machine, edited
sys/i386/conf/GENERIC to remove only the agp line, configured and
built a kernel with the snapshot userland tools (scary!), and the
result works fine. I have never tried X on this machine, and I have
no idea what kind of AGP card it has.

Any ideas what to try to debug this gratefully acted upon. In case it
matters, here is the rest of the dmesg output. (the version number is
from reusing the same config name as an older builds. I nuked all
.o/.a files before building this kernel.)

FWIW, the "ap not configured" is where the original kernel wedged.
The BIOS on this machine has no option to change the AGP window.
At this point, I dunno what else to try.
