	Andrew Gillham suggested I might have been picking up a later
	toolchain and it does look like I had lang/gcc installed. Rebuilt
	using the 1.5.x compiler and all looking good now. Sorry for the
	false alarm. If I get a chance I'll try to track down what the
	issue would be with lang/gcc.
