Perhaps port-i386 isn't the best forum for such opinions, so I thought I'd
copy this onto netbsd-users.
The next major hardware purchase I'm planning for now is the Pegasos
motherboard by bPlan. It's a micro-ATX formfactor PowerPC board. I'm not
intending to run NetBSD on it, and I don't know if there are any plans for
such a port, though it's listed amongst the suggested ports. Its price doesn't
seem bad, though. Lots of integrated peripherals. Those aren't very high-
quality, though; AC97, VIA, Realtek... What makes it interesting, though, is
that it's a desktop/consumer PPC board which is not made by Apple. I usually
don't pay much attention to processing speed, but running an image processor
today, which I like and need to do, made me think that I shouldn't be running
at 25 MHz for many years longer. Not on my GUI box, at least.

Some of the latest ports do look interesting, that Sandwich board, for
example, or whatever that MIPS thing was called (Chalice?). Those seem to be
aimed at the developer/evaluation/integration market, though, and I haven't
found any price quotes.

What are your suggestions for current non-i386 hardware?
