Nope. cdrecord author is perfectly aware of cdrecord running with
ATAPI drive on systems with an SCSI-ATAPI emulation layer. In fact,
he's running Solaris which does have such a layer (as NetBSD, OpenBSD
and Linux, FreeBSD is currently testing some patches).
