Is 32bit PCI memory space still mapped to the first 4GB in such case? I would 
think that it should, for compatibility reasons and convenience.

So either some of these 4GB RAM is mapped above 4GB in physical address space 
or is masked by mapped PCI devices.

How is it done? Could someone shed some light on this?
