We have collected quite a number of IBM PS/2 Type 8555 to send to East
Timor to help the schools there teach computing. (You may remember that
East Timor was devastated in 1999 when they voted to be independent from
Indonesia - the country was systematically looted and anything of value
which could not be carried away was destroyed)

These old computers have been donated and we are trying to get them
working. We cannot get into the BIOS or the hard disk to load programs. We
cannot even find a battery on the motherboard. We have got some to boot
from a DOS floppy by disconnecting the HDD - but have found it impossible
to format HDD.

We and the kids of East Timor will appreciate your help to solve this problem.
