By going through systematically each io port, the system finally =
detected the card

nele0 at isa0 port 0x340-0x357 irq 5 drq 7
le0 at nele0: NE2100 Ethernet
le0: address 08:00:09:be:3c:c6
le0: 8 receive buffers, 2 transmit buffers

But I can only get to this far.=20

The device timed out.=20

This is what happened with ifconfig -a:

le0: flags=3D8863<UP,BROADCAST,NOTRAILERS,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu =
1500
        media: Ethernet manual
        status: no carrier
        inet 192.168.1.239 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.1.255
        inet6 fe80::a00:9ff:febe:3cc6%le0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x3

Though ethernet cable is connected properly to the nic.

Would anyone can suggest the next diagnostic step?

David Kwok
