Hi,

I just switched from a old ISA SB16 sound card to an Ensonic AudioPCI 97 -
One of the reason was that I had to jack up the volume on my speakers all
the way to hear anything, which made the background noise unbearable,
even after using xmix (which helped, but not enough).

So I install the new card, executed ./MAKEDEV audio0 , and the problem is
worse (you can just BARELY hear anything at full blast)

Am I missing something here? (or any advice from other Ensonic users?)

Thanks - Peter
