I have a machine, running 1.5Q with 16 IBM dtla-307075 disks in it,
running at udma mode 1, and I only get crc errors on one of the drives. I
have not yet swapped out the cable to see if that is the problem. However,
we were getting many many many errors on these drives with any cables
longer than 24 inches. Shortening the cables to 18 inches made an amazing
difference in performance. Of course it did terrible things to the
physical appearance of the rig.
