Adaptec says:

Note: The AVA-2904 and AVA-2904CD are products intended for the European
market only. Drivers for the AVA2904 and AVA-2904CD are the same as those
for the AVA-2906, but there is no SCSIselect utility for the AVA-2904 or
AVA-2904CD.

Note: Some Operating Systems detect and list these cards as Adaptec AIC-7850.
This is fine, and does not affect operation in any way.

/usr/src/sys/dev/pci/aha_pci.c says:

/*      $NetBSD: ahc_pci.c,v 1.24.4.1 2000/09/05 01:00:25 soren Exp $   */

/*
 * Product specific probe and attach routines for:
 *      3940, 2940, aic7895, aic7890, aic7880,
 *      aic7870, aic7860 and aic7850 SCSI controllers
                             ^^^^^^^

I'll add it to the supported hardware list on the web page, and I'll check the
install notes.

All this stuff in twice the space would only look half as bad!
