getting this UMC based motherboard to run NetBSD!

Dave,
I did what you did and ripped out the opms support in the kernel, compiled,
and
voila! I can now use the keyboard! Now I need to figure out if the opms is
needed
for the mouse support on the com1 port. This board doesn't have a PS/2 type
mouse
port so a regular serial mouse will be used here.
