Only a few parts of the 2nd stage bootsector for NetBSD/i386 originally
came from FreeBSD. The code that deals with the feature that you are
talking about (using the extended int13 interface to boot from above 8G)
is entirely homegrown NetBSD, as it was written by Wolfgang Solfrank
and me.

Just wanted to clear that up,
