Dunno how Linux do, but I got that modes by some simple vesa call... if
someone's interested, I still have some manual.

Well, I've used some time ago on some old isa vga, but it worked.
Anyway, it shouldn't be strictly card-related, and there are some
standard bios call to know what modes are available.

Let me know: I'm not a NetBSD developer, but if I can help, I'll do it
happily.
