The 'ldconfig' would be perhaps with the libc5 compat stuff.  By default I
believe the suse_* packages are for ELF Linux.  You can use the 'glibc'
version of Quake2 and you don't need the older stuff.

If you're using an ELF binary, this shouldn't matter.

Are you sure you have an /etc/quake2.conf pointing to your quake2
directory?  This sounds like it is trying to read the baseq2/pak0.pak
file, but doesn't know where it is.
