Hej!

Anyone running mgetty on an AST port?
which device is the magic one?
I noticed there are now dty's but no docs, and all devices just do not work.
This is is:
NetBSD zippo 1.3I NetBSD 1.3I (ZIPPOIFW) #1: Mon Feb 1 08:30:52 CET 1999
root@zippo:/usr/src/sys-i4b/arch/i386/compile/ZIPPOIFW i386
but also newer ones are not ok, i.e. the terminal lines are plain dead and
unkillable hanging.

On the alpha, there is no problem with "standard" 16550 ports.
And, I don't have a standard 16550 port on my intel boxes availible, the only
ports with connectors are AST's.
ast0 at isa0 port 0x1a0-0x1bf irq 5
com2 at ast0 slave 0: ns8250 or ns16450, no fifo
com3 at ast0 slave 1: ns16550a, working fifo
com4 at ast0 slave 2: ns16550a, working fifo
com5 at ast0 slave 3: ns16550a, working fifo

I fear upgrading my
NetBSD zappa.unna.Ping.DE 1.2G NetBSD 1.2G (ZAPPA) #1: Wed Sep 10 22:43:30
CEST 1997 augustss@calvin:/users/NetBSD/src/sys/arch/i386/compile/ZAPPA
i386
because there are the lines my downstream users use...

Gruesse
