Thanks, it certainly sounds like the same problem.  Funny that I hadn't run
into this a long time ago already.. been using a PPP link for years and
never saw this before.  Maybe I just hadn't used an ftp server that sends
high-priority packets or something..

I hope this problem gets solved in one way or another.  Maybe high-priority
packets should be allowed to fill the bandwidth only momentarily or
something like that..
