Didn't this discussion come out of the fact that a `PnP' configuration
actually picked an IRQ to share, instead of a unique IRQ?

Couldn't we just block IRQ sharing (if there is no kernel option to _enable_
it) for PnP devices, or devices that conflict with PnP devices?
