IDE.

Machine hangs. ctl-alt-del won't work.

This is the weird-media/plain-old-floppy dual-purpose drive. I can put
in a plain old install disk (e.g., a windows or dos boot floppy) and it
"just works", and shows up as A:. However, the Unixes I've tried to boot
from it have died horribly.

I'm guessing this is because it's a "floppy" which is really an ATAPI
device. Still, it'd be awfully convenient if we could make LS-120 (or
even zip) boot disks. Many megabytes, and fairly convenient for slightly
bigger backups. Slow, but who cares? ;)
