Oookay. How about doing shared libs in the package just for a.out
platforms, and not for ELF (a la what we do with apache)?

I'll have a quick look at that, but I'd have to get an alpha up
and running again to do any real work with this. Given how slow
mine are, I don't don't if I can bear the pain. :-)
