Folks,

I've got two (unrelated) problems with my recent NetBSD 1.3
installation.

The first is a lot of M_REJECT messages from the NCR driver whilst
probing my RRD42 CDROM. These messages are the same each reboot. I
_didn't_ get these messages running 1.2. Here they are:

	cd0 at scsibus0 targ 4 lun 0: <DEC, RRD42 (C) DEC, 4.3d> SCSI2 5/cdrom removable
	probe(ncr0:4:1): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:1): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:1): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:1): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:2): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:2): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:2): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:2): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:3): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:3): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:3): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:3): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:4): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:4): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:4): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:4): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:5): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:5): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:5): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:5): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:6): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:6): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:6): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:6): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:7): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:7): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:7): M_REJECT received (4:8).
	probe(ncr0:4:7): M_REJECT received (4:8).

The second problem is starting any 1.3 X program, or any old dynamically
linked X program. For example, starting an xterm I get:

	thoreau:~ 19% /usr/X11R6/bin/xterm -display x:0
	_X11TransSocketINETConnect: Can't connect: errno = 60
	Error: Can't open display: x:0

`x' is my X term (a DECstation 3100 running Ultrix with the standard
X11R5 server). I'm planning to install NetBSD/pmax 1.3 on this machine
soon. Netscape (the static, BSDI1 version) works fine. I've got 1.3
installed on a PMAX (also talking to an Ultrix X server), and don't have
the problem there...

Any help appreciated :-)

Simon (whose liking for PC's hasn't improved).
