What kind of devices are attached to that SCSI bus?  (In particular,
what's at unit 0?)

I was getting messages like that on my machine with an ahc, but using
the BIOS's configuration screen and disabling some of the options for
some of the targets (in particular, wide SCSI negotiation, which I'm
not sure _could_ be a problem for you 8-) fixed the problem.
