I was doing some checks on one of our 1.2G boxes and found the
following. Could someone enlighten me as to actually what the
protocol drain routines are and why they might be called?

cache2:/root# netstat -m
64 mbufs in use:
        11 mbufs allocated to data
51 mbufs allocated to packet headers
2 mbufs allocated to socket names and addresses
7/288 mapped pages in use
584 Kbytes allocated to network (3% in use)
0 requests for memory denied
0 requests for memory delayed
4278 calls to protocol drain routines
