Argh! After snagging another copy of the "base bits" and assembling them on
my SE/30, I was able to pull out copies of cksum and diff which I planned
to use to verify that the distribution files were correct.

HOWEVER... When I run the beasties on the 486, I get a message about there
not being a ld.so available.

Would it be a lot of work for someone to compile a statically linked (that
wouldn't require ld.so, right?) copy of cksum and diff for i386, and send
it to me? It looks like setting up a cross-compiled on my Mac to do it will
be a LOT of work.

If it does end up being inconvenient, I'll work out something else.

Thanks in advance for the help!

(PS: Just so I don't get fifteen copies, if you're willing to do this,
please tell me, so the first person who offers will be the only one that
has to go through the work. Again, thanks!!! If doing this ends up being
unfeasable, I guess what I'll do is copy over the images again. I'm not
sure how to verify that they've arrived properly sans cksum, though.)

Later...
