Subject: how could swap changes cause private vm86/dosemu to stop working?

I have some local modifications in my VM86 support to handle what my
private port of an old linux DOSEMU requires. It used to work just
fine, but with <mrg>'s swap configuration changes in the kernel, the
dosemu program now fails to boot up to a dos command line.

I've poked around a bit and I can't figure out how anything he changed
could be causing dosemu problems. I'm certain its his changes, though,
as I have kernel trees with and without those changes and that's the key
difference causing me problems.

Any suggestions?
