Someone sent me patches for the StarTech ST16C650A UART.
  You didn't send me ic/st16650reg.h.
Yes, I've been too quick to clean out email lately.

I tried putting the part (from byterunner) into a 386 that is my
router before I'd installed the patch. (A Bitsurfr is connected to it)
The PPP came up, and a friend was pinging me. He got about 10 pings
through, and then it stopped. I got "no buffers" if I tried to ping my
ISP.
I suspect that buffer on the modem filled, it did flow control, and
then my system never started again. (this was 1.2D, which I think had
all of Charles' work integrated)

Does anyone else have any experience with 16650 parts with only the
16550 driver?

I should be just searching the port-i386 list, but that never seems
to work for me... I tried on flame.org and netbsd.org, but didn't find
the reference.
