ok, i changed the SMC to be setup as ed2 instead of ed0. (i couldn't try ed1
as the ezstart utility wouldn't let me select 0x250 as an I/O port address,
0x240 & 0x260 were choices, but not 0x250) i now no longer get the device
timeout that i did before, however, there is a new problem, this is probably
an i'm a moron and didn't set something up correctly type error, but even
so i still need help. :)

at bootup i get these error messages:

ifconfig: SIOCGIFFLAGS: Device not configured

and

NFS Portmap: RPC: Port mapper failure - RPC: Unable to send

i suspect the second error is due to the first error, let me now log in and
check some stuff out (i didn't want to lose those errors, wasn't sure if i
could get them back)

ok, if i try to run the command 'ifconfig ed2 206.103.246.91' i get the error
ifconfig: SIOCGIFFLAGS: Device not configured, gee, that looks rather familiar
now doesn't it? :)

do i need a different kernel? if so is there someone who can make me one as i
can't compile a new kernel without the network since my NetBSD source tree sits
on a different machine and i need NFS to get to it (no space on the currect
hard drive)

thanks,

-brian
